PeeWee's Page
Before reading, keep in mind although Pee Wee's life
got off to a bad start, we made sure he lived as happy
as he possibly could while we had him.
Pee Wee was a puppy born out of Sasha (orange and
cream) and Gizmo (black).  A totally healthy puppy at birth.
When PeeWee was four weeks old,  I noticed he had a
runny nose.  The vet checked Pee Wee out as totally
healthy, except he needed medicine for allergies.  So Pee
Wee got an injection.

Shortly there after Pee Wee stopped walking and started
falling over whenever he would stand.  The vet then
diagnosed Pee Wee as hydrocephalus.  Knowing the signs
and symptoms of hydrocephalus I was not convinced.  We
searched out another vet to take Pee Wee to.  We found
one in Claxton Georgia, who set us up with The Veterinary
School of the University of Georgia.  There with the latest in
technology they found Pee Wees' true problem.

The injection Pee Wee had received for allergies was too
strong of a dosage.  The shot had suppressed his immune
system and allowed an infection  to set in on his brain.  The
only treatment was through medications and the chances of
him being cured was very slim.  Pee Wee quit growing,
never quite reaching 2 lbs. and never would walk again.

Over the next two years our family had a new baby. Pee
Wee was fed, bathed and cared for just as you would a
newborn baby. Although Pee Wee had problems and wasn't
able to get around like most dogs, he was highly intelligent.
He would let you know by barking and pushing his hind end
up when he needed to go to the bathroom.  When we would
play with him, he would put his ears up and put his head
down like he was preparing for an attack while his tail was
wagging. It was so cute.

Pee Wee went everywhere with us. Pee Wee went camping
several times.  Made many trips with us, across the state, to
North Carolina and even a vacation in the mountains.  We
believe camping was his favorite.  He had his own life
jacket and loved the water.  The water was also a great
exercise for his legs.

However our time with Pee Wee was too short.  He was
taken from us when the infection in his brain worsened.  It
was very devastating on everyone who knew him.
The way we look at it is God gave us an Angel and now
God has an Angel.

This site and all pups are dedicated to Pee Wees' memory.
